aulode bliss is an apt descriptor for these two songs. they encapsulate such a feeling of comfort and warmth, yet also a breath of fresh air like you're taking a step into the cool breeze at the summit of a mountain. i love them so much ♡

about

Stonelands is a year-long palimpsest aimed at the evocation of bliss.

Over the past year I've been referring to bliss away from its colloquial use and instead as a descriptor for the state often achieved through meditation or specific activity in which gratefulness, beauty, reverence flow freely and happiness is cradled in a gentle, sustainable, flowing state away from intense, manic bursts.

This song was constructed out of shreds and scraps of timbres, motifs, instruments, and samples that directly represent dear memories or moments of bliss to me, in an attempt to build an evocation or sum of those feelings mosaically.

lyrics

Lyrics:

Lungs filled with air
Along the southern pass
Trapped deep in the wildwood
Boots grip soil, turning earth
And we finally feel it
As the rings of trees tell:
We are here,
We are home.
